Cynthia's professional career started when she moved into New York in order to be a fashion designer. Cynthia was soon signed to a 5-year contract to Wihelmina Models, which led her to an extremely successful first book as the cover of Essence Magazine. Cynthia's cover debut was one of Essence's most popular covers, and was one of the most requested by then editor-in-chief Susan Taylor. In the following days, Cynthia booked her second cover and thus set the mood for her career success. Then she moved into Paris and Milan where she was spotted walking the runways at Paris Fashion Week and Milan Fashion Week. Cynthia moved into New York City after living overseas for almost a full year. Her campaigns featured Maybelline Oil of Olay Macy's.
